Hello everyone!
Welcome back to Liv Loves. It's been one hell of a few months, but I had some spare seconds so I thought I'd check in!
"It's like that feeling when you're 'bout to win the medal, and you worked so hard that you knew you wouldn't settle,"
'Something Big' by Shawn Mendes is one of my favourite songs right now, and not just because he is a fellow Canadian! I've had a feeling for some time now that 2015 is going to be a good year for a few reasons...
In 2015, I am going to get healthy. I have said this so many times before, but this year I really mean it. They say that there has to be a moment when you just decide, and that's the end of it. Well, I've decided and I mean it! Last year I wanted to lose weight, and blog about it to keep me accountable. But then if I didn't lose weight or didn't have time to blog, I felt double bad. So I won't say I'm going to blog about it this time, I'm just going to do it!
But that's not the only thing that's going to happen in 2015. This year, I am going to...
- see a dermatologist about finally getting my face cleared up;
- participate in a missions trip to a place I LOVE (post here);
- see 1D in concert again with amazing friends; and
- GRADUATE FROM MY MASTERS PROGRAM!!!!
I feel like I've been fighting (and losing) an uphill battle for the past year or so. But now it's time to turn it around for the better. Let's do this together! Let me know your goals for 2015 :)
Until next time,
Liv <3

Invisible // Music
Hello there everyone!
It's been a week since you've heard from me... That must mean that the semester has officially begun! Back into the swing of things, let's get rolling!
I don't know about you, but I tend to find new music by browsing through the top charts of iTunes. And boy, did I ever stumble on a gem this week!
If you read my previous post about how I have a bit of a soft spot for country music, then you might have guessed that I love Hunter Hayes. Hunter Hayes is a 22-year-old country/pop singer from Louisiana, and his music is to die for. I've always been impressed with how thoughtful and meaningful his lyrics are, and it also helps that he filmed the video for my favourite song in my little city, IN MY OLD HIGH SCHOOL! But this is not what I am writing this post about.

This week, I was especially impressed with Hunter Hayes. Near the top of the charts was his new song "Invisible". Basically, the song is about being bullied when you're young, how he has been there, and a promise that it will get better. As someone who was a victim of bullying in high school, this song made me tear up a bit the first time I heard it. I wanted to share it with you today; whether you've been bullied in the past or are going through it now. If you're facing it now, I promise you that the song is right, and it does get better. It definitely did for me.
So if you're feeling lost, or just down in the dumps, I would definitely recommend this song to you. It's so inspirational, and it just might help you get through those really tough times.
The lyric video leaves a little to be desired, but you get the idea :)
Until next time,
Liv xoxo

The Little Things Are the Big Things
Have you ever found yourself feeling very bored? Or caught yourself wishing your life was better, or more grand? I know I have. Sometimes it feels like our little lives are dull, uneventful, not exciting enough. But when you step back and look at the big picture, you might find that the little things in life are what make it wonderful. So today I thought I would share with you a few things in my life that I am very grateful for, no matter how little. Be forewarned, most of these snaps are from my phone and not of the best photographic quality.

Perusing the bargain bin at Target. 'Romantic Favorites'? Hmmm...
The beauty of your city.

A colourful sunset.

Dinner with friends.

Making teddy bears with your bestie.

Taking pictures of your brother when he falls asleep at work.

When little kids make you stuff.

See what I mean? All of those things are pretty simple, but don't they just make life that much brighter? What are some little things in your life that make you happy? Let me know!
Until next time,

MY LEGS ARE JUST AWFUL
HERE I AM.
ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE.
Just kidding.. I am not that way. But I am back! As I predicted, I am not very good at keeping up with things such as blogs and YouTubing. Part of what has made it so hard is the idea of not knowing what I am doing in life, or where I want it to go. But now that everything is settled, I'm back in business. I thought I would do a post about...... drumroll pleeeeeeeease........
BODY CONFIDENCE.
I know this is a slightly overdone topic. But why not jump in headfirst, I always say.
My whole life, I have struggled with body confidence, and self esteem. I have never been small, or even close to it for that matter. I was bullied in high school, and was given some really mean nicknames. This gave my confidence an even more shattering blow.
To address this whole matter, I think there's one thing we should always remember. So what if you're bigger. Or smaller for that matter! Who cares if your nose is too big, your ears stick out, or you're seven feet tall? If people want to make opinions of you based on that, let them. The people who mean the most to you won't judge you based on your looks, but what's inside. And those are the people you most want in your life anyway, right?
So go ahead. Buy that dress you've been wanting, but weren't sure if you could pull it off. Go to that party you were thinking of skipping. Rock what you've got, and I think you just might surprise yourself.
Until next time!

Sorry... I'm back!
Well hello there!
Welcome back!
As you may or may not have noticed, I have been a bit off the radar recently. Between final exams, graduation, starting back to work, and now strep throat, I have been a busy/sleepy gal. BUT I have just taken an antibiotic and I am back in the blogging business!
Today I wanted to talk about a video that has been circling around Facebook since about yesterday afternoon. If you are a Facebook user, one of your friends has probably shared it, and for good reason. If you haven't had a chance to watch it, or don't know what I'm talking about, I strongly encourage you to watch this video:
(If it doesn't work, click the YouTube icon in the top left corner, which will take you to the actual YouTube page)
As cliche as it sounds, there is a quote that says "it's not about the years in your life, but more about the life in your years", and how true is that? If we put off everything we ever dreamed of doing in life, we may not get the chance! I can't remember the exact quote, but in the video Zach says something like "You don't have to find out that you're dying to start really living". Just because everything seems comfortable right now, doesn't mean we should procrastinate on achieving our goals and following our dreams.
Step out of your box. Begin saving for your dream vacation. Try out for a play. Start writing your ideas down on paper, and see what you can create. Enter that photography contest. Make that video. Join a club. I guarantee you, you'll be glad that you did.
Until next time,
Liv xx
